Women in underdeveloped societies are major victims of orthodox and illogical practices in the society imposed on them by the medieval man in this effort to keep them bound in physical and mental chains and create a male-dominated society. Except for a handful of women and that too from a highly intellectual society (note that it need not necessarily be the rich in the society), most of the women are far from free to lead a liberal life that their male counterpart lead. Societal rules and regulations have taken the shape of a particular behavior as well as a physical symbolic form. Every culture or religion has its own rules and regulations for controlling its female species. Many of them have taken deep roots in the minds of women such that they have accepted them happily. At times, they do not feel any reservation in accepting or expressing any displeasure in adopting these rituals.
