Hi! Before I took the route of groveling to my father, I originally started this loan process off by myself in hopes to actually get something so I can do this on my own and not actually have to ask for help. Now, while I don’t have MUCH of a credit history, it’s at least a good one. My hubby on the other hand isn’t the same way. He has a long history of not so up-to-par credit so when we first started looking for the loan we went on a search for bad credit loans. We found ourselves having some trouble even getting one of these loans, which I didn’t think was even possible. So it turns out that asking for help, even though I truly didn’t feel it was right, it wasn’t such a bad thing when I brought my father on as a cosigner under just my name, now Sean knows he’s the reason behind the rejection and I know that we’re going to have to look into some serious debt consolidation once he and I settle into our new home. He told me today that he’s looked into a debt consolidation loan already; he’s waiting to hear something in regards to it. I want to hope that things work out for him but he also understands that since the debt was there long before I came into the picture that he’s kind of on his own in order to fix the problem. I know we’re getting married but there are some things that someone has to do for themselves. He, in no way, is going to gain the ability to mess with my credit – nor will I have the ability to mess with his. We’ve included each other into everything else, even a joint bank account for house-hold money, but he’s on his own for this one. Bye.
